The show happens every year over the weekend after Labour Day in Riverdale Park West. 2024 dates are:

Cabbagetown Art & Craft is a community-based, not-for-profit corporation managed by the volunterr Board of the organization.

We believe that art inspires the soul. Our commitment is to support art and craft creators, to encourage appreciation of the visual arts and to give artists a place to showcase and sell their work.

By promoting Canadian artists, this not-for-profit juried show generates funding that allows us to give back to our Cabbagetown community and helps support its important causes.

The show was founded in 1988. The show supports local art and craft creators, encourages appreciation of the visual arts, gives artists a place to showcase and sell their work, and supports our community.

The show is held annually in Riverdale Park West in the heart of Cabbagetown next to Riverdale Farm on the weekend after Labour Day. Exhibitors’ tents line the park’s walkways, welcoming thousands of visitors over two-and-a-half days. Overarching trees provide shade, there’s a delicious selection of food for sale and there are picnic tables for family gatherings. We can’t wait to welcome you to our community. It’s an outdoor event that takes place rain or shine.

The show is held in Riverdale Park West, which is accessible. The show is also stroller friendly. The Simpson House washrooms at Riverdale Farm (open 9am to 5pm) are wheelchair accessible from the north entrance. Baby change tables are available in the farm’s Meeting House washrooms.

It’s easy to get to Riverdale Park West. We encourage you to use public transit, bikeshare or rideshare services. While the show is accessible by car, there will be some neighbourhood road closures, and limited parking in the area is further restricted during the Cabbagetown Festival weekend. The show is an outdoor gallery for discerning art and craft lovers to experience the juried exhibits, talk to the artists, designers and artisans and buy one-of-a-kind pieces from some of Canada’s most creative talent. We have culinary artists who exhibit at the event and for 2024 we’ll have a collection of pop-ups selling food for exhibitors and visitors over the weekend:

The Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show coincides with the Cabbagetown Festival on Parliament Street and the Riverdale Farm Fall Festival. Residents traditionally stage pop-up street sales on Saturday and Sunday. Cabbagetown is also home to a vibrant and eclectic collection of restaurants and stores for you to explore.

Visitors don’t pay to attend the show. Admission is free.

Most of the artists accept Interac and credit card payments. There will also be an ATM on site for cash withdrawals.
