Gerald FitzGerald
Board Chair

A long-time Cabbagetown resident, Gerald is an experienced business executive who led several companies prior to his retirement. He also has a background in governance with an ICD designation and a history of serving on and chairing both for-profit and not-for-profit boards. He is a keen photographer who has shown his work at local juried shows including the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show.

Valerie Fox

For Valerie Fox, Art and Design, together with the advancement of tech, has paved the path of her career. Working as an Artist, Designer, Creative Director, and Entrepreneurship Coach, she has been fortunate to work with amazing creative leaders and innovators around the world.  Val and her husband, Gord,  moved to Cabbagetown 25 years ago. They have two children and 2 teenage grandchildren. They live with their dog, Freddie Mercury. Cabbagetown has been their favourite place to live because of the wonderful people who live here and the beautiful houses, their gardens, and parks. Val considers the Art and Crafts show as one of the huge perks of living here, and she is honoured to be a director on our board. 

Jason Whetter
Marketing

Jason brings a deep appreciation and understanding of art and craftsmanship. With a background in luxury retail marketing and a design education from OCAD University, he combines professional expertise with a personal passion for the arts. He’s a proud Cabbagetowner and resides there with his family. Jason served on the 2024 Cabbagetown Show jury.

Jen Pritchard
Volunteer Co-ordinator

Jennifer Pritchard has been a resident of Cabbagetown for almost seven years. Volunteering and community engagement have always been important to Jennifer as she has previously volunteered in event planning, as a director on the Leaside Curling Board; in dog rescue; and has volunteered for the Cabbagetown Art and Craft Show. In her personal time, she enjoys supporting a variety of arts and hopes to become more engaged in the Cabbagetown community through her work as a director of the Cabbagetown Art and Craft Show.

Ingrid Knutson
Marketing

Ingrid is a retired Canadian diplomat who worked abroad in Canadian Embassy posts, mostly in Asia, on international development for CIDA for three decades. Although raised and educated in Toronto, after a career abroad she is a returnee who chose Cabbagetown as the best place in Toronto to live upon her retirement in 2024. She volunteered to help with the CA&CS 2024 show, loved what she saw and is very keen to ensure that the show continues to survive and thrive. 

Michael Hadad

Michael is a lawyer in private practice in Toronto. He lives and works in Cabbagetown and received his LLB from the University of Windsor. Michael was Chair of Onsite, the Professional Gallery Advisory Board at OCADU (Ontario College of Art and Design University) for 8 years. He was on the Board of Governors of the University from 2005 to 2011, and was on OCADU’s Foundation Board from 2006 until it was recently dissolved.  His community involvement is active and enthusiastic. He is a member of the Cabbagetown Heritage Conservation District Committee and was previously the Treasurer of the Management Board for the Cabbagetown Business Improvement Area for four years and a member for 14 years. Volunteer work has included Seaton House, The Cabbagetown Bag Ladies House, the 519 Wills Clinic for People with AIDS, and many other pro bono legal activities.

Michelle Ross
Jury Coordinator

Involved with the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show for over 10 years, Michelle studied textiles at NSCAD University, where she honed her eye for detail and developed a keen sense of style. She also attended the prestigious London College of Fashion in the UK before returning to Canada as a jewellery designer. Michelle participates in juried shows throughout North America. She’s recognized for contemporary handcrafted jewellery that reflects a truly distinct perspective and extensive design training. Her work is anything but traditional. 

James FitzGerald

James is a Chartered Accountant and experienced corporate finance professional, as well as a long-time resident of the Cabbagetown and Regent Park communities. His career has focused on mergers and acquisitions and advisory work for Canadian businesses across a range of industries. He currently works with one of Canada’s leading pension plans, providing operational due diligence and acts as an advisor to investment teams and portfolio companies. Outside of work, he is passionate about music, guitar, and is an enthusiastic (if amateur) photographer.
